Penns Tennis Club is situtated within the 28-acre Roger Smoldon Ground in the Walmley area of Sutton Coldfield. The club began in 1993 with a 2-court site off Penns Lane not far away, and has expanded over the years into an exciting, vibrant venue.
"We set out originally to create a fun and relaxed environment for everyone to enjoy regardless of age and ability. We are proud to say that this ethos still plays a big part in the club. Our aim is to produce large-club facilities with a small-club atmosphere."

Our club includes a total of:
9 outdoor all-weather courts (8 are floodlit, 5 have brand new surfaces)
2 new mini-tennis courts
Brand new court-side clubhouse
Regular use of the main site building (bar, showers, function rooms etc)
Extensive car parking

Many clubs strive to produce the next Wimbledon champion. At Penns Tennis Club our expert coaching team are on the way to achieving this dream but we strongly believe that no one player is bigger than the club. As a result of this, our programme is designed for the whole spectrum of play, and we get just as much out of the development of beginners and club players of all ages as we do with our international junior superstars!

Penns in the community...
We have a very open-door policy in that all our coaching activites are open to members and non-members. We run a series of all-year after school clubs, taster sessions and curriculum sessions with the following schools: Walmley Infants and Juniors, Deanery Primary, Penns Primary, Highclare Woodfield, Highclare Abbey, Maney Hill, Holy Cross, Shrubbery, Sutton Girls and Bishop Walsh.
For the past 9 years, we have also run tennis camps each school holiday and these always prove to be a big success!
